Grants and funding
Unfortunately, at this time, the Regeneration Partnership does not have any grants for buildings in the town. However, we are always happy to help businesses access funds and to talk through business opportunities and other regeneration activity in the town. Please call Simon Walker on 01946 598453.
As part of the Market Town Initiative and later with the support of West Lakes Renaissance, the Regeneration Partnership helped nine buildings with building reuse grants and a further fifteen with shopfront facelift grants for redecoration and signage. New uses of previously unused buildings have included cafes and a cycling barn, reflect the improving environment in the town and increased opportunities for visitors to the town.
New jobs have been created in the town centre as a result of the reuse of these buildings and the gaps that can be so detrimental to trading conditions.
The Partnership was also able to help 14 Community groups, amongst them Open Gates , Bigrigg Village Playing Field, the Thornhill Youth Group and the De Lucy Centre, with project funding and eight businesses with business development grants.
